Tetraethyl ammonium hydroxide is quaternary ammonium base, a strong organic base, similar in molecular structure to ammonium hydroxide and more alkaline than sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.
Main uses: molecular sieve template agent, catalyst for polymerization of organosilicon products, cleaning agent for electronic industry, phase transfer catalyst in organic synthesis chemistry, regulator in surfactant products, polarographic reagent and pH regulator in analytical chemistry.
Tetraethyl ammonium hydroxide solution is colorless to light yellow liquid. Easy to absorb carbon dioxide, strong alkali, strong corrosion.
